The schools that will make up the new Conference USA had another tough weekend on the gridiron.
Future C-USA members:
East Carolina kicked off this weeks action by losing 40-20 to departing member UCF on Thursday night.
Future member FIU also had a game on Thursday, as they lost at home 34-20 to the Red Wolves of Arkansas State. The Golden Panthers are now 1-5.
UAB finally got into the win column this week by defeating FCS-opponent Southeastern Louisiana 52-3. The Blazers are now 1-4 on the season.
Last year’s C-USA champs Southern Mississippi continue to be winless as they were defeated 40-14 at home against Boise State.
Tulane is also winless as they lost to the Ragin’ Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette, 41-13. The Green Wave drop to 0-5.
After leading 10-0 at halftime, the Rice Owls lost a tough one at Memphis, 14-10. The Owls are now 1-5 on the season.
The UTEP Miners were shutout at home today as they lost 17-0 to the Mustangs of SMU. The Miners are also 1-5 on the season.
Tulsa went into Huntington and earned a tough victory 45-38 over the Thundering Herd of Marshall. Tulsa moves to 5-1 on the season, while the Herd drop to 2-4.
Future member North Texas was blown out by the Houston Cougars today, 44-21. The Mean Green drop to 2-4 this season.
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs continue to be undefeated as they blew out UNLV at home, 58-31. The Bulldogs are now 5-0 on the season and face a tough task next week when they play Texas A&M at home.
Old Dominion and UTSA were both on Bye weeks this week and both teams are undefeated with records of 5-0. The Monarchs are back in action next week against Villanova, while the Roadrunners face future conference opponent Rice.
