Charlotte 49ers Basketball Recruiting: Niners in Keyshawn Woods' Top 7

Local 2014 shooting guard Keyshawn Woods from Charlotte’s Northside Christian Academy has pared down his list to seven schools, and the Charlotte 49ers are one of them.  This is according to his high school coach, Jeff McInnis (and reported by local recruiting guru Justin Byerly on Twitter today)…

While he isn’t ranked by Rivals.com, 247sports has Woods as a three-star recruit–the 15th-best SG in the state and the 53rd best nationwide.  With his updated list out, that means schools like App State, Campbell, ECU and Wichita State are out of the running.  By the way, the news that App was out was certainly to the glee of the section of the Charlotte fanbase that doesn’t like the school up in Boone.

Woods has been highly touted among these parts, being called “a great defender” with “a great…midrange” shot and an “eye-catcher”.  From what we’re hearing, all signs point to him being a key contributor to whatever team he chooses.  No doubt Alan Major and the staff are pushing hard for this kid, and if they’re able to land him, it will be another strong get for a squad that will also have transfers Braxton Ogbueze and Bernard Sullivan (both four-star recruits out of high school) avaliable.
