Let’s get right to it with our pregame roundtable as the Charlotte 49ers prepare to take on the Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs. Charlotte enters the day’s action 3-2, while G-W is 4-1 and ranked #24 in the country. Who do the guys think will win?
Defense will be the name of the game this afternoon as both teams have shown an uncanny ability to hold opposing defenses of the scoreboard. As a result, this will be a low-scoring affair, but the Bulldogs will have just enough to leave The Rich with a win. G-W 17, Charlotte 3
Coming back home to the friendly confines on Richardson Stadium should provide a boost to the 49ers. Unfortunately the Niners will be facing their first ranked team at home. I feel the task will be too tough and the 49ers will fall in a close contest 21-17.
Charlotte’s inaugural season has proven to be tougher than originally anticipated. Gardner-Webb comes to the Rich ranked in the FCS polls and looking to once again beat a FBS-bound program. I think that this will be the first nail-biting game in the program’s history with the Niners coming out on top if the offense comes to play. Charlotte 24, G-W 21
