He may be a student at the University of South Carolina, but Jadeveon Clowney swung by UNC Charlotte today for a little visit.
Clowney’s picked by nearly all NFL Draft experts to be a top 5 pick at worst, but with the big day just under two months away, the defensive end decided to put in a little work at Jerry Richardson Stadium. Clowney does have roots in the area: he was born and raised just across the North/South Carolina border in Rock Hill and graduated from South Pointe High School.
By his standards, Clowney had a down year from his 2012 campaign where he rung up 54 tackles and 13.0 sacks en route to becoming a Heisman hopeful. In his junior year, that dropped to 40 tackles and three sacks as he was banged up throughout the year.
Of course, Clowney will always be known for this play made in the 2013 Outback Bowl versus Michigan:
And no, he’s not transferring here.
